To build, assemble, and repair precision components for plastic injection molds as assigned by the toolroom team lead.
Ability to work independently. High ethical standards. Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, manufacturing environment. Detail-oriented. Ability to build and assemble moderately complex to complex components for new molds. Build or repair components of existing molds. Perform preventative maintenance on existing molds. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems on broken molds. Build fixtures and jig parts as needed. Accurately measure mold components using micrometers, gages, and other measuring devices. Effectively communicate and collaborate with engineers and toolmakers. Ability to run the following machines: CNC Mill, Manual Mill, Manual Lathe, Surface Grinder, and Conventional EDM. Maintains tool room in a neat and orderly manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to work in shop environment with occasional exposure to noise and temperature fluctuations. Continually, works with powerful equipment. Occasionally works with chemicals (cleaning solutions and cutting fluid).
High school education, plus two years trade school training, or equivalent training/experience.
