Job Title: Secondary Operations Level C
Department: Secondary Operations (Newton, Iowa)
Reports To: Secondary Operations Department Lead
Classification: Non-exempt

 

JOB SUMMARY

This is an entry-level position in the Secondary Operation Department. This job requires the person to perform any additional work needed on production parts before shipment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Visually inspect and box up the overnight production run
  • Fill out all paperwork relating to non-conforming production parts and how to properly handle the parts (Scrap tickets and Deviation tickets)
  • Develop a basic understanding of what kind of flaws that parts can commonly have
  • Sort parts for defects to ensure quality control
  • Assemble/degate multiple piece parts
  • Setup your work station in an efficient manner
  • Run the sonic welder to safely produce quality parts
  • Operate a manual plastic machine to produce quality parts safely
  • Vacuum test parts to ensure that they pass inspection
  • Requires attention to detail: Must have the ability to visually inspect for small/tiny defects
  • Must be able to get along and work closely with others creating a comfortable work environment and sharing any information that may be critical to perform their duties
  • Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies
  • Firm understanding and compliance with company’s Good Manufacturing Practices and Safe Practices
  • Display and promote company values
  • Regular attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work independently. High ethical standards. Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, manufacturing environment. Detail-oriented. Ability to identify problems when they arise and notify appropriate personnel. Exhibit sound and accurate judgment. Team player. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new approaches. Resourceful. Entry-level computer literacy. Mathematical aptitude. Knowledge of, Good Manufacturing Practices, and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Either currently have or ability to attain forklift certification required
